In 2018 fossil fuels (oil natural gas, natural gas and coal) comprised 81 percent of all the energy produced in the world. These nonrenewable energy sources can harm the environment in many ways. For instance, oil drilling can cause a huge impact on wildlife and communities. Fracking causes pollution of water. Power plants that use coal emit CO2.

Renewable energy, also known as green or clean energy is derived from natural and constantly replenishing resources such as sunlight, wind, and water. It’s a great choice for reducing our dependence on fossil fuels and also helping the planet.

Renewable energy is not web link only about preserving the environment. It’s also about being cost-effective, reliable and efficient. That’s why renewable energy is becoming more popular as a way to power our homes and businesses as well as vehicles.

Solar, wind, nuclear, and hydropower are the most common renewable energy sources. Solar energy utilizes technology to convert sunlight into heat and electricity. Wind energy is used to create electricity in a variety of locations around the globe. Hydropower harnesses the force of fast-moving water to produce electricity. Nuclear energy produces electricity by using the atomic fission process.
